Mr. Alan Saliba Gauci started work as a clerk at University around summertime of 2000. He spent the first six months working at the Project Management Office until January 2001. Shortly afterwards he was assigned to work at the Communications and Alumni Office where he still works. He is mainly responsible for the sorting of outgoing mail, but in the meantime he also undertakes other necessary clerical work such as recording of postage expenditure, making photocopies of articles related to the University and filing them accordingly and also helps out in the reception area when needed and also carries out other work when needed. Alan has obtained his Diploma in Teaching Piano(Dip LCM) last October and is a keen practitioner of Tai Chi Chuan and often attends teaching seminars to improve his level. Throughout the years Alan has undertaken the ECDL Core Syllabus where he has successfully passed all modules and also attended courses of Japanese Language organised by MUS and also of Chinese Language which was organised by China Culture Centre. Alan is married and has a three-year old son. Alan recently successfully completed a two-year course in Diploma in Chinese offered by Confucius Institute at University of Malta, where he achieved his Diploma with Distinction and graduated last November.
