Mr Christopher Vella is the Resident Full-time Lecturer in history at the Junior College.

Mr Chris Vella is Junior College Senior Lecturer I and Resident Academic in History since 2012.

Mr Vella graduated B.A. Hons and M.A. in History from the University of Malta. His research interests lie with the Early Modern period, particularly Hospitaller Malta, Maltese Catholicism, Church-State relations and Church history, gender and LGBTQI studies.

Before joining the Junior College, Mr Vella taught at St Martin's College for 12 years, teaching at Middle School, Senior School and Sixth Form levels, lecturing History, Sociology and Systems of Knowledge in the College Sixth Form. He was also Head of Department of the Humanities, responsible for History, Geography, Religion and Environmental Studies.

Mr Vella is Coordinator of Drachma LGBTI, Treasurer of the Global Network of Rainbow Catholics (GNRC), Administrator and Board member of the European Network of Parents of LGBTI+ Parents (ENP), MUT Council member, MUT delegate for the HERSC Committee of ETUCE, Committee member of Malta Historical Society (MHS), and life member of Din L-Art Ħelwa and Friends of the National Archives.
