Started studying for a diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology at the Department of Health in 1989. After being awarded a diploma in 1992 proceeded to study for a Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences at the University of Malta. In 1996 he obtained his BSc (Hons) MLS in the very first group to be awarded that degree in Malta.

In 2000 furthered his studies at the University of Ulster (Coleraine – Northern Ireland) and was awarded an MSc in Biomedical Sciences in 2003.

Worked at the Pathology Department since 1989 where he currently holds an Advanced AHPrac MLS grade and is the Scientific Head of Cellular Pathology.

Has been involved in teaching since 1993 for the BSc MLS course and has been active since then in other various courses locally.

Has international experience and training such as in 2004 at Imperial College Hammersmith London, and in 2006 at Atrium Medisc Centrum, Heerlen, The Netherlands. Has also presented his work in conferences in various European countries such as in Milan (2013), Paris (2014) and Barcelona (2015).

Is involved in Malta DVI (Disaster Victim Identification), HID (Highly Infectious Diseases), and Tissue banking among other activities.
