Donatella Pace Olivari is a senior social worker with over 18 years of experience in the field of social work.
She spent 12 years in the United Kingdom, where she began her career as a fostering social worker and later advanced into managerial roles. During this time, she managed two specialist fostering services delivering Treatment Foster Care Oregon (TFCO), providing a direct alternative to custody for young people. She also played a key role in further developing a trauma-informed service, supporting children and young people with complex needs.
Donatella returned to Malta in 2018, where she continued her commitment to working with children, young adults, and families within a community service. In 2020, she joined the University of Malta as a social worker within the Counselling Services Unit, contributing to a multidisciplinary team. In this role, she provides general social work support while also delivering workshops and training sessions to students and staff.
Since 2024, Donatella has served as the International Relations Officer on the Executive Committee of the Malta Association of Social Workers (MASW). Through this role, she maintains active links with the International Federation of Social Workers (Europe), helping to promote best practices, professional development, and knowledge exchange within Malta’s social work community.
