Larissa Jonk is an Assistant Lecturer with the Centre for Applied Linguistics and English Communications Skills at the University of Malta where she teaches several study-units on English language proficiency and on the MA in Applied Linguistics & TESOL. She has teaching and researching interest in Discourse Analysis.
She read for her undergraduate degree in English at the University of London, followed by an M.A. in English with the University of Malta and a Diploma in TESOL with Trinity College, London. She has successfully completed a Ph.D degree with University of Malta, her research interest being in expert readers' perceptions of coherence in novice written texts.
Before joining the University of Malta, Larissa had a career in the local industry of Teaching English as a Foreign Language. After many years of teaching and then as a Director of Studies, Larissa worked in various aspects of consultancy including materials design, language assessment, and quality assurance.
