As a materials engineer and researcher, I am passionate about exploring and enhancing the properties and applications of materials. With a PhD in Materials Engineering and extensive postdoctoral experience across Brazil, Spain, and Malta, I have been fortunate to work on various projects related to metallurgy, materials characterisation, biomaterials, surface engineering, implant design, and structural analysis. I am now part of the OsteoMag-3D project as a Senior Research Support Officer I. In this role, I contribute to an international collaboration between Malta and China, funded by Xjenza Malta, that aims to develop biodegradable magnesium-based scaffolds for bone repair. The project’s goal is to create load-bearing magnesium implants that help natural bone regeneration and safely break down in the body.
