Louise Grech studied pharmacy at the University of Malta, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery and graduated in 2002. Dr. Grech started working as a hospital pharmacist at St. Luke's General Hospital and in 2004 she was appointed a clinical pharmacist within a rheumatology unit. As part of her M.Phil degree at the University of Strathclyde, Dr. Grech underwent training exposure as clinical pharmacist at the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh and at the Southern General Hospital, in Glasgow. In 2007, Dr. Grech obtained her M. Phil degree at the University of Strathclyde. Her work in this area has been presented at a number of conferences including the Malta Medical School Conference, the European Society for clinical Pharmacy (ESCP) conferences and the European League against Rheumatism (EULAR) annual conferences. Dr. Grech obtained her Ph.D degree at the University of Malta on design and evaluation of pharmaceutical care models in rheumatology conditions. Dr. Grech strongly supports the education of patients and other healthcare professionals on the use of medications and has often participated in educational seminars on rheumatology and pain management aimed at patients and healthcare professionals. Dr. Grech is involved in teaching clinical pharmacy aspects, pharmacy practice and terminology. She is the supervisor of a number of undergraduate and postgraduate students mainly in the area of clinical pharmacy and pharmaceutical care.

Dr. Grech is a registered pharmacist in Malta and the United Kingdom. She is member of the Malta Pharmaceutical Association (MPA), the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS), the European Society of Clinical Pharmacy (ESCP), the International Federation of Pharmacists (FIP),the American College of Clinical Pharmacists (ACCP) and the American College of Rheumatology Health Professionals (ACRHP). She has been awarded the EULAR (European League against Rheumatism) travel grant for poster presentation in 2009 and 2012.She has co-authored a number of publications and is a reviewer for the Journal of Oncology Pharmacy Practice.
