Dr Gauci read for her undergraduate degree at the University of Malta which she followed with an M.Sc. from Queen's University, Belfast. She later read for her Ph.D. at the University of Malta conducting research in quality assurance of prescribing in the elderly population. She lectures undergraduate and postgraduate students and supervises research.


Dr Gauci is a Senior Principal Pharmacist at Karin Grech Hospital where she was responsible for setting up the Clinical Pharmacy Service. As a teacher practitioner she supervises local and overseas students at the hospital where training is provided in the practice of Clinical Pharmacy.
