Prof Michael Briguglio is Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Arts, at the University of Malta.

Briguglio is Associate Editor with the International Social Science Journal, and he coordinates the Masters degree in Social Impact Assessment at the University of Malta.

Michael Briguglio is the Science Communication Coordinator of EU COST Action CA22122 Rethinking the Blue Economy: Socio-Ecological Impacts and Opportunities- (RethinkBlue). He is also a member of the Action's Core Group and is representing Malta in its management committee.

Michael Briguglio is also a board member of Research Network 25 - Social Movements of the European Sociological Association, and a convenor of the Works in Progress Seminar Series at the University of Malta. He is a founding member of the Malta Sociological Association where he currently serves as Public Relations Officer.
