Professor Peter Fsadni is Associate Professor of Medicine and Head of the Department of Medicine within the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Malta. He also serves as a Consultant Physician in Respiratory Medicine at Mater Dei Hospital.
Professor Fsadni obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree and his Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Malta, followed by further professional training leading to the award of the European Diploma in Adult Respiratory Medicine and Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh.
His research interests focus primarily on indoor air quality, asthma, allergic airways disease, and the broader impacts of environmental and occupational air pollution on respiratory health. He has contributed extensively to the scientific literature in these fields and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations. His work has supported national efforts to improve clinical practice, streamline respiratory diagnostics, and enhance public health strategies concerning respiratory disease in Malta.
In his academic role, Professor Fsadni is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, curriculum development, and the supervision of research across multiple levels of medical training.
