I am a lecturer at the Centre for Academic Literacies & English Communication Skills. I teach on the CASP programme. My main research interests are in linguistic anthropology, in particular critical discourse analysis, discrimination, and language and identity.
Having completed the Cambridge Delta during my career in the EFL industry, I read Linguistics at the University of Malta prior to doing a Master’s in English at the University of Oxford. Subsequently, after a stint working for the UN, I returned to the University of Malta, where I completed a Ph.D. in Linguistics. The main focus of my thesis was xenophobic discourse in Malta, in particular, discrimination and hate speech directed at migrant communities.
