Dr Steffi Vella Laurenti serves as an Assistant Lecturer in European Union Law within the Department of European and Comparative Law (Faculty of Laws) at the University of Malta. She holds an LL.D. and a Masters degree in European and Comparative Law and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of Malta.
Admitted to the bar in 2013, Dr Vella Laurenti gained extensive experience as a lawyer practicing across various legal fields, including human rights and refugee law as well as civil and commercial law. Subsequently, she joined the EU Coordination Department at the Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade, where she specialized in EU justice matters.
Dr Vella Laurenti’s teaching portfolio spans several key areas of EU law, including the Area of Freedom, Security, and Justice, the Rule of Law and the EU, the Law of the Institutions of the EU, and Judicial Protection in the EU.
