Dr Stephanie Mifsud currently works at Mater Dei Hospital in Malta as an acting Resident Specialist in the Department of Anaesthesia, Intensive Care and Pain Management. She initially earned a Bachelors degree in Nursing Studies in 2005. She subsequently obtained her M.D. from the University of Malta, graduating in 2011. Dr Mifsud is also a Diplomate of the European Society of Anaesthesia.
She is active in the European Resuscitation Council as an instructor in BLS, ILS and ALS and has taught on such courses abroad. She has been a Visiting Assistant Lecturer with the Department of Surgery at the University of Malta since 2016. She is also actively involved in both formal and informal teaching of junior anaesthetic trainees, nurses and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
She also carries out audits and research in her department, with a particular interest in intensive care medicine and medical education. She will be presenting her latest audit on the "Utilization of online resources amongst Maltese anaesthetic trainees" at the Euroanaesthesia 2019 in Vienna.
In her spare time she enjoys travelling around the world.
