Mr Tyrone Mizzi Navarro is a risk management specialist with over 15 years of experience across the banking and financial services sectors. He has held senior risk and compliance leadership roles with a number of financial institutions, building a career centred on governance, regulatory compliance, and financial risk analysis and modelling.
Mr Mizzi Navarro read for his Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) in Economics at the University of Malta, which he followed with a Master of Science in Financial Economics at the University of London. His early career was spent in the public sector before moving into financial services, where he progressively took on greater responsibility in enterprise risk management, credit risk oversight and regulatory compliance.
He is also a Casual Visiting Lecturer at the University of Malta, where he delivers postgraduate and undergraduate study units in Risk Management Theory and Practice, Advanced Risk Management, and the Economics of Risk Management, among others. He has further delivered risk management courses both locally and internationally, working with professionals across the financial services sector on quantitative risk analysis and risk governance.
Throughout his career, Mr Mizzi Navarro has advised Boards and senior management on risk and compliance matters, drawing on a solid grounding in prudential supervision and EU regulatory requirements. He has managed credit, operational, and market risks across a range of contexts and has considerable experience with structured finance and lending arrangements.
He has a particular interest in applying econometric models, stress testing frameworks and data-driven approaches to practical risk management challenges.
