MSCA Staff Exchanges 2026 (Call Id: HORIZON-MSCA-2026-SE-01-01)

This annual call aims to strengthen collaboration and international research by supporting international, inter-sectoral, and interdisciplinary staff exchanges. The program is focused on converting innovative ideas into products, processes, and services while enhancing the skills, employability, and career prospects of staff members both within and outside academia.

Consortium Size: Any consortium for any must include at least 3 Partners from different countries (including the project’s coordinator).

Geographic and Sectorial Conditions: At least 2 of the 3 partners must be from different EU member states, and include a combination of both academic and non-academic sectors. If all partners are from the same sector, the consortium must include at least 1 partner from a non-associated Third country.

Staff eligible to go on exchanges: Researchers at any career stage, from PhD candidates to postdoctoral researchers, as well as administrative, technical or managerial staff involved in research and innovation activities.

Types of eligible exchanges: Between the Academic and Non-Academic partners and between Academic partners in the EU and their peers in non-EU countries.

Funding: The projects are funded on a base of "unit costs" per month spent on secondment. These are not intended to cover their salaries, which are already covered by the sending institution but as an allowance for travel and subsistence.

Duration: Project can go up to 4 years, and every staff member can be seconded between 1 and 12 months (with total sum of months capped at 360 months).

Secondments under this call are open to researchers at any career stage, from PhD candidates to postdoctoral researchers, as well as administrative, technical or managerial staff involved in research and innovation activities.

The Radiance Project website (formerly known as MSCA-NET) also runs a matchmaking platform, and has now published their annual handbook to build better applications for Staff Exchanges. In addition, they also provide a detailed submission guide to help users navigate the EU Funding and Tender’s (EU E&F) portal .
