Xjenza Malta offers a variety of support schemes designed to help academics network, train, and craft top-notch proposals under Horizon Europe. While this page focuses on Networking Activities to prepare for a Horizon Europe proposal, Xjenza Malta frequently announces additional schemes, which are disseminated locally by RSSD.

These schemes are open to all disciplines aligned with the National Strategy for R&I and cover a variety of costs, including mobility, consultancy fees, mentorship, and specialized training to help you deliver a pitch-perfect proposal.

HIPAS: Horizon Internationalisation Partnership Award Scheme

Funding of up to EUR 9,000 including VAT is available, broken down as follows:
Proposal Writing: Up to EUR EUR 8,000 including VAT to engage a professional service provider to assist with the writing and submission of a Horizon Europe coordinator application. Please note, applications under HIPAS for the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship (PF) is capped at EUR 2,500 including VAT.

Top Up Fund for Graphic Design: An additional EUR 1,000 including VAT, specifically to engage a graphic designer to enhance the proposal’s visual presentation (e.g., diagrams, charts, and technical illustrations).

Please note, the National Rules for Non-State Aid  state that submissions can take place across the year and according to your needs. The call is ongoing, and has three cut off dates for 2026, along with internal deadlines further down on this page.
