A Masters in Disability Studies provides an in-depth understanding of the perspectives and experiences of persons with disability, the barriers encountered and enabling factors. The Masters also delves into definitions and theories of disability; disability legislation, policy and services; contemporary and intersectional issues; and disability in the arts and media. Disability Studies is an interdisciplinary area of studies and the Masters can be the gateway for work especially in the disability, education or health sectors. Past students have included allied health professionals, educators, disability activists, social workers, those working in the disability and social policy sectors, among others.
