About

In collaboration with partner universities, academic and administrative members of staff at the University of Malta are regularly involved in designing, developing and delivering various joint programmes. Such programmes offer students unique and highly enriching learning experiences by encouraging and promoting international collaboration and research opportunities. Thanks to the opportunities promoting physical mobility, students and staff have the opportunity to study, teach, engage with and conduct research at multiple partner universities and ultimately earn a fully recognised degree.

The University of Malta Senate has set up a Joint Programmes Committee composed of members of staff nominated by the Rector.

The Joint Programmes Committee advises the UM Senate on matters regarding proposals for joint programmes in light of UM’s Strategic Plan. The Committee's roles include disseminating information, guidelines and advice to academic members of staff who are considering participating in joint programmes.

While working in tandem with the Programme Validation Committee (PVC) on prospective joint programmes, and ultimately providing its recommendations to the PVC, the Joint Programmes Committee also oversees and supports the implementation of the joint programmes offered at UM.
