Post of Assistant Laboratory Manager
Research Support Services Directorate
The Research Support Services Directorate (RSSD) is seeking to recruit an Assistant Laboratory Manager (ALM) to join its Lab Support Team. The ALM will work closely with researchers and technical staff across designated Faculties and Institutes to ensure the efficient, safe, and proper operation of laboratories and related infrastructure.
The RSSD Lab Support Team plays a vital role in strengthening the University’s research infrastructure. The team focuses on developing and implementing robust laboratory systems to maintain safe, efficient, and regulatory-compliant research environments across campus.

Salary
The annual salary for 2026 is 34,184 rising by annual increments of €600 up to a maximum of €38,384. Candidates will be entitled to an annual performance bonus of up to 10% per annum of basic salary.

Reporting to the RSSD Director and senior management, the Assistant Laboratory Manager will work proactively and with a solution-focused approach to support researchers, academics, and technical staff across the University. The role collaborates closely with university personnel to maintain a high-quality, safe, and efficient laboratory environment, with key responsibilities including writing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), assisting with risk assessments, and supporting facilities upgrade projects.
