Pilates & Posture

Registration Form for Pilates & Posture: The Midday Reset at UM

Important: The Application must be accompanied by the payment of a one-time registration fee for the application to be valid and considered.

This training is targeted for all UM employees.

Course Overview

The Pilates session is designed for adults at a normal (general) level, focusing on building strength, flexibility, and body awareness in a balanced, approachable way. The class begins with gentle warm-up movements to mobilise the spine and activate the core, helping participants connect to their breath and alignment. Exercises progress at a steady pace, combining controlled mat work with simple flow sequences that strengthen the abdominal muscles, back, hips, and glutes while improving posture and stability.

Throughout the session, clear options and modifications are offered so everyone can work at a comfortable yet effective intensity. Emphasis is placed on precise movement, smooth transitions, and mindful breathing rather than speed or repetition. The class finishes with stretching and relaxation, leaving participants feeling lengthened, centered, and energized—challenged but not overwhelmed, and well supported in developing a stronger, more resilient body.

Equipment & Versatility

To keep the sessions dynamic, we can incorporate various props based on the group's preference:

  • Resistance Bands (for deep muscle activation)
    Light Dumbbells (for added resistance)
Small Pilates Balls (for stability and inner-thigh work)
Bodyweight Only (focused on pure form and control)

Note: The group will have the opportunity to decide together which equipment (if any) we use for each cycle of workouts.

Kindly note that participation is subject to availability and approval by the Office for Human Resources Management & Development, in consultation with your line management.
