Discover the transformative power of nutrition with our engaging workshop tailored for university
staff. This workshop will begin with an overview of how healthy eating positively impacts physical
health, energy levels, emotional and mental well-being, cognitive function, and long-term vitality.
Next, we will address common nutritional myths and individual challenges highlighted in the pre-
workshop survey. You will then learn essential food literacy components, including nutrition basics: the Healthy Plate and portion control, dietary guidelines overview and understanding food labels.

This follow-up session bridges the gap between nutritional theory and sustainable daily habits. Participants will explore how personal perceptions and global standards shape our food choices, while gaining the tools to navigate modern dietary trends with a critical, evidence-based lens.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
Analyse Personal Dietary Patterns: Identify and evaluate how individual perceptions and societal norms influence personal food choices and nutritional habits.
Implement Sustainable Eating: Define the principles of the Planetary Health Diet and apply them to create meal patterns that support both human health and environmental sustainability.
Navigate Food Legislation: Understand the regulatory framework surrounding organic foods and distinguish between evidence-based benefits and common marketing myths.
Evaluate Diets for Longevity: Explain the core components of the Mediterranean diet and how its integration supports long-term health and disease prevention.
Critique Modern Weight Management: Compare the mechanisms, benefits, and limitations of popular dietary trends, specifically Ketogenic diets and Intermittent Fasting, based on current scientific research.
Apply Practical Meal Planning: Demonstrate the ability to translate nutritional theory into practice by developing a structured, balanced weekly meal plan.
Interpret Nutritional Data: Execute a hands-on nutrition analysis task to accurately evaluate dietary intake and identify areas for improvement.
