Creative & Innovative Motor Skill Learning in Early years PE
Motor skill learning is an essential educational component in early child development. The need to expose young children to practices which challenge, excite and motivate young learners to become physically literate in the present era is crucial. This need is evident in the holistic learning outcomes designed for children in the early years. The early years and primary physical Educational curriculum highlights the need to develop motor skill competency, however due to limiting factors children are not being equipped with these essential skills. Presenting motor skills in creative and innovative practices is one way to raise the appeal factor of such skills making these more fun and multi-dimensional for learners. For this purpose the Institute for Physical Education and Sport (IPES) at the University of Malta is organising a two day practical workshop titled; Creative & Innovative Motor Skill Learning in Early years PE. This workshop will take place at IPES between the 16th and 17th October 2025. Dominique Chique; a mastermind behind innovative and creative motor skill learning and founder of the motor skill learning academy in Switzerland will be delivering these workshops. This is an opportunity for all primary physical Education teachers and coaches working with young children.
