Dr Joseph Zammit is a Senior Lecturer in Industrial Engineering with the Department of Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering. His research interests include; Collaborative product development, Manufacturing information and knowledge management, Product lifecycle management (PLM), and Lean and sustainable manufacturing; he has published numerous peer-reviewed articles within these fields.
Joseph obtained his PhD from the University of Greenwich in 2015, working in collaboration with Cummins Power Generation. His research focused on Enterprise Engineering, developing a knowledge-capturing and sharing framework using advanced ICT technologies in order to enable problem-solving in a social context, ensuring the use of the collective company knowledge. Developing methods to enable both explicit and tacit knowledge to be captured and stored in a user-friendly medium to enable knowledge sharing, teamwork, collaboration and social understanding of employee knowledge within a global enterprise setting.
Prior to joining the University of Malta, he worked as a project manager and technical expert leading a global PLM implementation project. Joseph is a warranted engineer, holding both a local Maltese (Ing.) and a European FEANI (Eur Ing) Engineering Warrant.
