Kevin Schembri is lecturer in canon law and coordinator of two master programmes (M.A. in Matrimonial Canon Law and Jurisprudence; M.A. in Family Ministry) at the University of Malta. He earned his undergraduate degree and licentiate in sacred theology from that University, and a licentiate and doctorate in canon law with specialisation in canonical jurisprudence from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome.

Schembri is the author of 'Oikonomia, Divorce and Remarriage in the Eastern Orthodox Tradition' (Rome, 2017). Appearing as volume 23 in the series 'Kanonika', the book was launched by the Pontifical Oriental Institute during its centenary celebrations.

He is a Catholic priest and serves as defender of the bond and promoter of justice at the Metropolitan Tribunal of the Archdiocese of Malta. He is also ecclesiastical assistant to the Society of Christian Doctrine in the same diocese, and rector of the Chapel dedicated to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal at Blata l-Bajda. Schembri is a member of the Corpus Christi Movement founded by St Teresa of Calcutta and has travelled extensively giving seminars and retreats to the Missionaries of Charity.
