Kevin Schembri is lecturer at the Faculty of Theology at the University of Malta, where he is a member of the Department of Pastoral Theology, Liturgy and Canon Law. He lectures in canon law and coordinates the Master of Arts programme in Matrimonial Canon Law and Jurisprudence.

He received his undergraduate degrees and a licentiate in sacred theology from the University of Malta and obtained a licentiate and a doctorate in canon law with specialisation in canonical jurisprudence from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. His book-length monograph 'Oikonomia, Divorce and Remarriage in the Eastern Orthodox Tradition' appeared as volume 23 in Kanonika book series.

Schembri serves as defender of the bond and promoter of justice at the Metropolitan Tribunal of the Archdiocese of Malta and is ecclesiastical assistant to the Society of Christian Doctrine in the same diocese.
