Marilyn is an Associate Professor with the Department of Psychology, which she joined following almost two decades with Youth and Community Studies. She trained in Social Psychology at the University of Liverpool and completed a PhD in Criminal Careers at the University of Sheffield. She is a member of the Centre for Freedom from Addiction, President's Foundation for the Well-being of Society; an assistant to the magistrate of the Juvenile Court; a member of the Addiction Advisory Board (MFSS); and a member of PVC (UOM). Some of her previous appointments included chairing the Malta Psychology Professions Board and the National Commission for Alcohol, Drugs and other Dependencies. She is currently co-ordinating the Master of Psychology in Forensic Psychology. She sits (as substitute member) on the management board of the European Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA).
