Student representatives on Faculty Sub-Committees 

At the Faculty of Science, student representatives form an important link between the student body and academic staff. Each Board of Studies includes student reps who attend meetings, contribute to discussions, and ensure that the student perspective is heard in matters related to their course. Students are encouraged to reach out to their representatives for support, advice, or to raise any concerns they would like addressed.

Mingge He

I am Mingge He, a first-year student studying Computational Statistics and Artificial Intelligence.
As a student representative, I hope to be a bridge between students and academic staff, ensuring that students feel heard and supported throughout their studies. I look forward to working with students and academic staff to address academic concerns and foster a positive, supportive learning environment.

John Sant Portanier

BSc (Hons) in Financial Mathematics, Actuarial and Risk Management Short information

As a student representative, I am committed to ensuring that the voices of my peers are heard. Currently pursuing a BSc in Financial Mathematics, Actuarial Science, and Risk Management, I work closely with faculty and students to foster a positive environment by sharing concerns and ideas for a better overall experience.

Zuzanna Galicka

My name is Zuzanna Galicka, and I am currently a first-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Physics. As the Student Representative on the Board of Studies for Physics, my goal is to ensure that every student’s voice is heard and valued. I also hope to help connect students with the world of research and professionals in the field by organising activities that make studying physics both engaging and inspiring.

Kelly Anne Buttigieg

I am currently a third-year student at the University of Malta, reading for a BSc (Hons) in Biology. As student representative, I aim to be the bridge between students and the department, to support the student body, and to ensure critical feedback is passed from students to the department to foster an improved learning environment for current and future students. Elisa Talbot

I am a third-year student reading for a B.Sc. (Hons) in Biology. As a Board of Studies representative, I want to involve students more closely in shaping the Biology course. That means making sure their concerns are not only heard, but that real changes are actually implemented as a result. I also hope to make the course as engaging and rewarding as possible, and to ensure it gives the practical skills and knowledge needed to succeed as biologists today. Faith Camilleri

BSc (Hons) in Physics, Medical Physics and Radiation Protection

Faith Camilleri is a second-year student at the University of Malta, reading for a degree in Physics, Medical Physics, and Radiation Protection. She has a keen interest in the applications of physics in healthcare, particularly in the areas of nuclear medicine and radiation oncology. Her academic focus includes the safe and effective use of radiation in medical diagnostics and treatment, with a strong commitment to advancing patient care through physics.

I am a fourth-year student reading for a B.Sc in Physics, Medical Physics and Radiation Protection at the University of Malta. As a student representative, I aim to be an approachable point of contact for my peers, ensure their concerns and suggestions are heard, and support communication between students and academic staff.
