UM Fitness to Practise Board

The Fitness to Practise Board has been set up to

  • regularly review and revise this Policy every four (4) years, or earlier on a needs basis in response to changing requirements and circumstances
  • act as a UM-wide Fitness to Practise body for potential consultation or referral
  • act as the appeals body in respect of decisions taken by FFTP Committees, and
  • act as a facilitator for a network for support and advice at both an individual level and administrative level.

Term of Appointment:
1 January 2023 to 31 December 2023   

Composition of the Board

Members
Professor Joseph M Cacciottolo (Pro-Rector as Chair)
Academic Registrar
A Senior Member of the academic staff from a list of three nominated persons, provided that any one case is considered by the same person:
   Professor Colin Calleja
   Professor Anne-Marie Callus
   Dr Gabriella Gatt
The Dean of the Faculty offering the course on which the student is registered, or delegate provided that these academics have not been involved in the reported incident
A student, or an alternate appointed from among the UM student representatives on Senate, provided that any one case is considered by the same student representative
   Ms Nicola Kirkpatrick (Senate Student Representative)
   Ms Elisa Micallef Peplow (alternative Senate Student Representative)
