Our partnerships

We collaborate with a number of local and international organisations, including government agencies, local councils, non-governmental organisations, community groups, educational institutions and European networks. These entities provide meaningful learning opportunities for our students, in particular with their youth work practice, and community work training. Through our partnerships we connect academic learning with professional practice and community engagement. These partnerships enable students and lecturers to engage with real-world social issues through placements, community-based projects, guest lectures, research collaborations and field visits, ensuring that their learning extends beyond the classroom. By combining academic knowledge with practical experience, we also aim to build the capacity of individuals, organisations and communities.

By working closely with practitioners, policymakers and community organisations, the Department contributes to the advancement of evidence-informed policy and practice while supporting initiatives that strengthen youth participation, community development and social inclusion. These partnerships support students in becoming reflective professionals, who are equipped with the knowledge, skills and values to work alongside individuals and communities, fostering positive social change both in Malta and internationally.
