The Research Grants Finance Management (RGFM) leads the University’s financial oversight of externally funded research. From initial proposal through to project closure, the RGFM team ensures that research remains financially sound and audit-ready.

Core Financial Pillars

The RGFM team is structured across two specialised areas:

• Pre-Award: Budgeting and financial compliance at the proposal stage; vetting and processing of Grant and Consortium Agreements.
• Post-Award: Financial monitoring, reporting, and audit-readiness through to project closure and final settlement.

RGFM provides the financial infrastructure required for a world-class research environment, collaborating as a partner with the University’s Faculties, Institutes, Centres, and Schools (FICS), the Research Support Services Directorate (RSSD), and the Knowledge Transfer Office (KTO).
