Deprecated activities
Reading lists can no longer be set up within the VLE using Leganto. Leganto will be used solely for the official reading lists. The Library will oversee the creation and maintenance of structured reading lists within Leganto. You can create a direct web link (URL) to the official reading list in Leganto within your VLE area. NB: Reading list activities within past VLE study-unit areas are no longer accessible.
Moodle has made the decision to phase out the Chat and Survey activities. These features have become redundant as newer, more effective tools are now available. If you utilised Chat and/or Survey, we encourage you to refer to the respective section within the Changes and new features in the VLE (Sep 2025) [PDF] guide to consider the recommended alternatives. NB: While you can still view existing Chat and Survey activities on past study-unit areas, it's no longer possible to create new ones.
Tutors can now create or duplicate badges even if a badge with the same name already exists in the system.
In addition to short audio and video clips, users can now instantly create a 2-minutes screen recording via the text editor, with no additional software installations.
