The VLE was upgraded to Moodle 4.1.4 during the Summer Recess (2023). This version has a simplified and modern look to enhance the user experience. While all former activities and tools have been maintained, this upgrade features bug fixes, enhancements and new features.

Tutors may now find the Start editing / Stop editing toggle button in the top-right corner of the navigation bar.
A tabular navigation menu at the top of each VLE area, as well as activity pages, allows for easy navigation between key pages.
Tutors can easily add new sections anywhere within a VLE area.
Sections can be collapsed / expanded to navigate the VLE area more efficiently.
The Course index drawer (on the left side of the screen) acts as a table of contents for all activities and resources available within a VLE area.
A new text editor has been introduced.
The VLE Calendar can now be accessed via the User menu.
The activities and resources icons have changed.
The following resources / activities have been renamed so tutors can identify them more intuitively:
Assignment (Turnitin) (previously referred to as Turnitin Assignment)
Label / Text and images areas (previously referred to as Label)
Web link / URL (previously referred to as URL)
Tutors can opt to inform students when adding / updating study material via the Send content change notification option.
Activity completion criteria are displayed on the VLE area homepage.
The Zoom meetings manager activity now allows tutors to schedule office hours appointments for students to easily book a slot.
Assignments that require multimedia files (e.g. podcasts, videos) may now be easily submitted via the Assignment (with Panopto) activity via the VLE itself.
