Rev. Dr Carlo Calleja read for his bachelor's degree in theology at the University of Malta and obtained his licentiate from the same university in 2016. He embarked on further studies in moral theology, obtaining his Doctorate in Sacred Theology from the Boston College School of Theology and Ministry in 2020. Dr Calleja's doctoral thesis is entitled "Kinship as a Political Act: Responding to Political Exclusion through Communities of Solidaristic Kinship". He also holds a bachelor's degree in the health sciences (physiotherapy) and clinical experience in the field.
