Lorleen Farrugia obtained her PhD ‘Children and New Media. A Psychosocial Approach to Understanding how Preadolescents Make Sense of Online Risks’ from the University of Malta. Lorleen has been a member of the EU Kids Online Network since 2012, and she is also a member of the Maltese Safer Internet Centre BeSmartOnline! Advisory Board. Her main research interests are social pychology and media psychology. She has also been involved in youth work since 1999 and has worked in interpersonal skills training, marketing youth initiatives, project development and youth work management. Lorleen was part of the Counselling Unit team as Intake Officer from 2007 until 2016. She joined the Student Advisory Services in 2017.
