This annual call aims to strengthen collaboration and international research by supporting international, inter-sectoral, and interdisciplinary staff exchanges. The program is focused on converting innovative ideas into products, processes, and services while enhancing the skills, employability, and career prospects of staff members both within and outside academia.
Prior to applying, PIs are also required to confirm that there will be no negative impacts on other responsibilities of staff on secondment, including teaching or the achievements of deliverables for ongoing projects.

Consortium Size: Any consortium for any must include at least 3 Partners from different countries (including the project’s coordinator).
Geographic and Sectorial Conditions: At least 2 of the 3 partners must be from different EU member states, and include a combination of both academic and non-academic sectors. If all partners are from the same sector, the consortium must include at least 1 partner from a non-associated Third country.
Staff eligible to go on exchanges: Researchers at any career stage, from PhD candidates to postdoctoral researchers, as well as administrative, technical or managerial staff involved in research and innovation activities.
Types of eligible exchanges: Between the Academic and Non-Academic partners and between Academic partners in the EU and their peers in non-EU countries.
Funding: If UM is joining as a partner, please note that MSCA-SE funding is based on "unit cost" basis and there is no dedicated budget at proposal stage. Coordinators may also retain a percentage of the RTN and/or Management & Indirect costs allocated to partners to cover coordination expenses (e.g. ~30% RTN, ~50% management).
Please inform the pre-award team at the office for Research Grants Finance Management if the coordinator has indicated any retention from the budget allocated to UM.
Duration: Project can go up to 4 years, and every staff member can be seconded between 1 and 12 months (with total sum of months capped at 36 months).
