Interreg Euro-MED - Call 8 Thematic Projects

Interreg is a Programme co-funded by the European Union (EU) that supports international cooperation.

This 8th call for proposals aims to select around 10 thematic projects concerning 3 missions from the programme and their guiding thread of Advancing Territorial Resilience. 

  • Green Living Areas
  • Innovative Sustainable Economy
  • Natural Heritage

The 4th mission of sustainable tourism is not open under this call because it is the subject of a dedicated call from this year's calendar.

Call Type: Proposals should be action-oriented and results-driven, and take place over a duration of 24 months.

If you’re interested in applying as a principal investigator (PI) for the University of Malta, academics can develop proposals for a thematic project under the following priorities

Priority 1. Smarter Mediterranean

  • Objective 1.1 Developing and enhancing research and innovation capacities and the uptake of advanced technologies

Priority 2. Greener Mediterranean

  • Objective 2.6 Promoting the transition to a circular and resource-efficient economy
  • Objective 2.4 Promoting climate change adaptation and disaster risk prevention, resilience, taking into account eco-system-based approaches
  • Objective 2.7 Enhancing protection and conservation of nature, biodiversity and green infrastructure including in urban areas and reducing all forms of pollution
