Many of our projects collaborate with academics from across the University of Malta and beyond, bringing together perspectives from engineering, AI, media, law, planning, and communication. They join specific projects where their domain knowledge makes the AI more grounded and useful.
- Prof Matthew Montebello: AI and media; contributes across AICOM, AWIGS, AIRAS, DIMAS and NAIL on learning design, media analysis and applied AI.
- Prof Ing Carl J. Debono: Engineering and media technology; supports AWIGS, AICOM, TALC, AIRAS and TMMU with signal processing, systems and infrastructure expertise.
- Prof Saviour Formosa: Geospatial and environmental applications; works on AAC and TALC, linking AI tools to mapping, land and environmental data.
- Prof Vince Briffa: Visual arts and media; collaborates on NBxAI to connect explainable AI with visual practice and art‑driven perspectives on news imagery.
- Prof Carmen Sammut: Journalism and social equity; contributes to AIRAS on gender, representation and media ethics.
